I haven't really changed much to my second draft. I Have changed my strapline to be able to win 1000 iTunes to download. and added another strapline underneath about "gossip" This is to pull the audience in, so hopefully more people would buy it who likes this sort of magazine. I have also advertised what else is inside by using coverlines, like "The UK Top 40", "Quiz's", "Intervew and Pictures Of Flo" and "All About Chlamydia". This should attract the readers attention and get them to buy it, because there might be something inside that they would want to read but they wouldnt know about it if they hadnt have had looked at the front of the magazine. I have also offered a free gift, off "Morgan Phillips" this is because i would want them to buy my magazine. I have also added the last one of my smaller stories on, and it is about relationship advice. this is to help the teenage girls who buy this magazine, because of the age they are at they will start going out with boys. This is most probably my final design of the magazine as i like the way this front cover is designed.

First Draft of Front Cover
I have decided to call my magazine Defused, based on the response to my questionnaire. On my front page i have tried to include a mixture of images and text that relate to my target audience. The straplines and text box/speech bubbles all feature simple language and the kind of stories that teenage girls would want to read about. I have used to colour scheme of baby pink, and purple, this is because my magazine is aimed at young teenage girls ranging between 14-18. I think that the colours i have used contrast with one another, allowing them to look nice. My main picture is the picture i liked the most, it is a picture of the new girl band "Flo". it is the biggest picture on the page because that is the main story of the magazine, since they are the new thing, and have their firs interview in the magazine "Defused". I have three littler stories on the bottom of my front cover, this is to advertise what else is in the magazine to attract the readers, because they may not like the main story, but want to know what to do this summer, or the latest celebrity gossip. I haven't yet chosen my third smaller story, but i am thinking that it will be about boyfriend and girlfriend troubles. I have also got a strapline at the top of the page which is attracting the readers attention by offering to win free tickets to Flo's first ever tour. I thought a good price for this magazine would be about £2, i have chosen this by looking at other magazines in the same genre, because you don't want to make your magazine too expensive. if you do it will allow the competing magazines take over, and your reading audience will go to them.

Also Defused will have the latest looks, so young teenage girls can have the latest fashion tips, and find out what is going on in celebrities lifes, and inteviews of new artists/bands. Defused will be a reasonable price, because it is aimed at teenagers that will have either a part time job or a weekend job, so therefore they will not have as much money as people who have full time jobs there age, so i am have my magazine at a cheap price so more people will buy it, this will allow my magazine to become more popular. Also around valentines time, there will be advertisements of where the girls can buy for their valentines.

Textual Analysis of KERRANG!
The title of this magazine sounds like a guitar; this connects to what genre the magazine is. The audience for Kerrang! would be people who are interested in rock music. The front cover has a colour scheme of black and red. The main title is a different font to the rest of the text, which would allow it to stand out, with the white text on a black background. The picture is the main asset on this cover, because it is in the centre of the magazine. It is a mid close up shot of a man. The main picture connects with the coverlines as the man in the picture is from the band “Guns ‘n’ Roses”. The barcode is in the corner of the magazine, this will make it easier for the person behind the check out to scan it. All of the text is in capitals, which makes it easier for the audience to read, it stands out a lot. There is a red border around the white text to emphasise the important parts of the text.
Textual Analysis of Top Of The Pops
Front Cover -
The main title is in bubble writing placed at the top of the page, they may have used bubble writing to allow the title to stand out, and add an interesting feature to this front cover. The middle part of this writing is covered up by the main picture which would need to see the magazines whole title because they will associate the pictures with what sort of magazine it is, especially when you have all singers on the front cover. The colour of Cheryl's top is white which, goes with the colour scheme of this magazine. This magazines main colour is pink; this will be because it is quite a girly magazine. It advertises the fact that they have posters inside to make young children who "fancie" these celebrities to want to buy it, so they can have their pictures on their wall. The use of "JLS SIGNED HOODIE" this is a quote off the magazines cover to lure the target audience in, this is also in a different font, so it stands out. They have also used abbrievations such as "OMG", this relates to the way teenagers/young children speak these days.
